09/08/2007 - Richmond, VA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kyle Busch won Friday night's Emerson Radio 250 at the Richmond Internationals Raceway leading all but 25 laps. The No.5 Chevrolet crossed the finish line 0.461 seconds ahead of Carl Edwards.
The victory was Busch's second of the season and ninth of his Busch career.
Pole winner Busch took off right from the drop of the green flag and quickly built a one-second lead over Matt Kenseth. But an early caution flag erased the margin just as quickly.
On the restart, Kenseth stayed with Busch this time and by lap 28 went past him for the first lead change of the evening.
Kenseth kept the lead until the next caution when most of the leaders pitted. Mike Wallace didn't pit and inherited the lead. His lead lasted only three laps before Busch, Kenseth and Denny Hamlin all flew around him with their new tires.
Busch and Kenseth continued to show the way as the field passed the 75-lap mark, leading Hamlin by more than two seconds. Busch was setting a torrid pace that even Kenseth couldn't stay with. By lap 85 he held more than one second on Kenseth and five seconds on Edwards, who got around Hamlin for third place.
After 100 laps, Busch's pace was so quick that just 17 cars remained on the lead lap. He kept the lead until lap 142 when Kenseth took another turn on top of the charts passing Busch on the inside.
Then Paul Menard spun with 91 laps to go and it cost Kenseth the lead as he also spun while trying to avoid Menard. It left the No.17 Ford in fourth place as he gathered himself and kept going.
The field got ready for their final stops as Busch led them down pit road with 89 laps remaining. Busch beat Edwards back to the track with Hamlin coming out third amd Jeff Burton, last week's Busch winner, in fourth place.
On the restart, Hamlin was quicker than Edwards and grabbed second place.
By lap 180 Busch had rebuilt his lead to 2.363 seconds and had clinched the 10-point bonus for "most laps led." But he wasn't in the race for points, he was in it for the win.
On lap 184 David Ragan slammed the outside wall to bring out the caution flag and slow the field to a crawl.
Busch, Edwards, Hamlin and Kenseth would decide this race in a four-car shootout over the final 60 laps. Busch again built his lead and with 35 laps to go it was 1.179 seconds over Edwards and 2.533 seconds over Kenseth.
A.J. Allmendinger spun to bring out the caution flag with 14 laps to go. Then Derrike Cope blew an engine with six laps to go and it left Busch with one last restart for the win. If he got a good restart the race was his. Busch got the restart he needed and win it he did, leading a total of 227 of 252 laps.
With the second-place finish, Edwards rebuilt his championship lead to 733 points over both Kevin Harvick and David Reutimann.
The next race in the series is set for Saturday, September 22nd at the Dover International Speedway.

MySportsbook.com: NBA Championship Odds
With the playoffs about two months away, the top two teams in the Western Conference are the clear cut leaders to win the NBA Championship. The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season. What makes the Mavs’ record more impressive is the fact that they dropped their first four games of the season. Currently they have won 17 out of their last 18 and are MySportsbook.com’s favorite (2-1) to win it all. Right behind the Mavs are the Pacific leading Phoenix Suns (39-13). Last season, the Suns lost in the Conference Finals to non-other then the Mavericks four games to two. Of course the Suns were without center Amare Stoudemire who has is averaging 19.9 PPG and 9.5 RPG since coming back from his knee injury. Unlike the Mavs, the Suns have struggled a bit lately having lost their last three and four out of their last seven. Of course the main reason for their three straight loses is due to the absence of two time MVP Steve Nash, who is out with a shoulder injury. Heads-up, the Mavs have beaten the Suns in both of their meetings this season.
In the Eastern Conference, the Pistons (32-19) are the favorites to win it all at 6-1. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons. Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4. Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1). The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this. No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.
