06/12/2010 - Detroit, MI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Carlos Guillen's homer to start the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Detroit Tigers a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second of a three-game interleague set.
With Brendan Donnelly (2-1) on the mound, Guillen drilled a 2-0 fastball over the right-field wall for the win.
Johnny Damon went 3-for-5 with a run scored for the Tigers, who have taken the first two games of this set. Phil Coke (4-0) got the win for throwing the top of the 10th while Jeremy Bonderman went seven innings in the start, giving up two runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
Garrett Jones hit a solo home run and scored twice while Ryan Church and Neil Walker each drove in a run for Pittsburgh, which has lost seven straight. Paul Maholm went six innings in the start and was charged with just one run on eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
The Pirates got on board in the second when Jones singled and came home on a Church double. The team blew a chance for more, as the next two batters got on to load the bases and Jason Jaramillo hit into an inning-ending double play.
Detroit got the run back in the bottom of the frame as, with the bases loaded and no outs, Gerald Laird hit a sac fly that scored Brennan Boesch, but also saw Guillen nailed trying to tag to third. Danny Worth followed with a double, but Austin Jackson grounded out to end the frame.
Jones led off the fourth by drilling a 1-2 pitch deep into the seats in right- center for a 2-1 lead.
The Tigers loaded the bases with one out in the fifth, but Guillen hit into a double play to end the frame.
With Evan Meek on the mound for Pittsburgh in the bottom of the seventh, consecutive singles from Jackson and Damon put runners on the corners. After Ryan Raburn struck out, Miguel Cabrera hit a grounder back to the mound and Meek got Jackson out in a run down. Boesch then hit a chopper back to Meek and his throw to first was missed by Ryan Doumit, allowing two to score for a 3-2 Tigers lead.
Pittsburgh, though, answered in the eighth off Joel Zumaya as Jose Tabata hit a one-out double, stole third and came home on Walker's single to tie the game.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com. Big 12 Conference betting odds
Work left to do: Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas State
Texas joins Texas A&M and Kansas as locks after getting league win No. 11. Texas Tech greatly helped its own hopes and crippled OK State's with the two-point win Saturday. Is K-State the last reasonable hopeful? Could be an elimination match in Stillwater on Tuesday, at least for the Cowboys.
Work left to do:
Texas Tech [18-11 (7-7), RPI: 44, SOS: 12] A critical two-point win over OK State leaves the Red Raiders with Baylor and at Iowa State left. Get both and the Red Raiders likely are good to go. Get one and there could be some interesting comparisons with a K-State team that could finish two or three games "ahead" of them in the standings but doesn't have any of the quality wins Texas Tech has. Not a lot in nonconference play (against Arkansas in Little Rock being the best win, by far) to lean on.
Oklahoma State [18-9 (5-8), RPI: 50, SOS: 35] Still without a road win, the Cowboys now need to win two on the road just to get to .500 in conference play. It's hard to recall a team (OK, other than Clemson) falling so precipitously from lock status to almost certainly out of the NCAAs at this point. There are wins to be had in the last three, including a very big home game against K-State on Tuesday, but this team is reeling. Can you tell the pressure to win is getting to them with the way the final possession played out at Texas Tech? There are some good nonconference performances to lean on, specifically beating Missouri State and Syracuse on neutral floors and Pitt in OK City, but if the Pokes don't right this very, very soon, that won't be enough.
Kansas State [20-9 (9-5), RPI: 56, SOS: 96] It pays to be in the Big 12 North. The nine league wins are Colorado (twice), Missouri (twice), Iowa State (twice), Baylor, Nebraska and (a good one against) Texas. That helps explain the middling computer profile. The win over USC is nice, but the nonconference leaves a lot to be desired. The game at OK State in Stillwater on Tuesday is huge, as it could KO the Cowboys and leave K-State with a home date against Oklahoma with which to work.
