Urlacher has sprained toe; status for Sunday uncertain

11/07/2006 - Lake Forest, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - An MRI on the left foot of Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher revealed a sprained big toe, the team announced on Monday.

Urlacher hurt the foot in the late stages of the Bears' 31-13 loss to the Dolphins at Soldier Field on Sunday, when he tried to bring down Miami running back Ronnie Brown on a rushing play. He limped off the field under his own power, but did not return for the remainder of the game.

The sprain is not expected to keep the 2005 NFL Defensive Player of the Year out of action in the long term, and his status for this Sunday's game against the Giants is unknown, but Urlacher is hoping to play.

The University of New Mexico product, who has made the Pro-Bowl in all of his first three NFL seasons, has one interception and one fumble recovery in eight games this season.
